How to have your best year yet as a Scanner - London

Postby john_w » Thu Dec 31, 2009 4:17 am

Hi all,

I've been running the monthly Scanners Night event in London for a couple of years now. We have anywhere between 30 and 70 attendees every month. We have interesting speakers on a variety of subjects such as How to turn your idea into a book, how to focus when you hate to focus, how to be optimistic, how to write a story, and how to make money out of your ideas.

My interest is in helping scanners put their great ideas into action rather than just dreaming about them and an important part of that is working out how to make a living doing the kind of things we love doing as scanners.
We usually have some time after the speaker for an Idea Party style brainstorm or some networking. Tickets are £10 if you book in advance.

In January, the speaker is my good self. Here's the info:

On Wednesday 13th January 2010 you can discover how to have your best year yet as a scanner or multi-faceted creative person.

How to have your best year yet:

    Without setting goals
    Without any career plan
Without a 30 page business plan
Without having to focus on only one thing
and… make more money than you have before!
Scrap your New Year resolutions and goals and find a way of having a brilliant year as a Scanner without them.

Find out how to indulge your desire to experiment and play with creative projects while still moving forward and making a better living than ever before.

Our speaker is the founder of Scanners Night himself, John Williams.

John is author of the forthcoming Pearsons book “Screw Work, Let’s Play: How to do what you love and get paid for it” and has been coaching Scanners for 5 years on how to make a living from their creativity.

He is a former Senior Managing Consultant for Deloitte, and was an independent consultant to the BBC. John is an expert on launching and marketing a business on the Internet.

He has also written for national publications, had his experimental music played on radio around the world and appeared on TV news.
